Two people have been charged and charges are pending against two other individuals in connection with Regina’s first murder of 2021.
Justin Julien Englot, 29, and 25-year-old Jayden Marie Sanford, both of Regina, are charged with being an accessory after the fact to murder and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
Englot and Sanford made their first court appearances Tuesday morning. The Regina Police Service said two other suspects in the murder of Amber Dawn Wood are in custody, but details about those individuals weren’t released.
Wood, a 38-year-old from Bienfait, died Saturday after she was shot.
Just after 8 a.m. Saturday, police and paramedics responded to a house in the 700 block of Athol Street for a report of a person injured in a shooting. EMS took Wood to hospital, where she died a short time later.
A media release from police said their investigation resulted in the arrests of three men and one woman.
EDITOR’S NOTE: Charges against Englot were stayed March 6, 2023. He was given a conditional 15-month sentence on other charges arising from the incident. Sanford pleaded guilty to being an accessory after the fact on May 17, 2023 and received a 12-month conditional sentence.
