The Sask. Party has announced its candidate in a byelection set for the Saskatoon-Meewasin riding.
More than 200 party members voted to nominate Brent Penner Monday night at the Ramada Inn.
Penner, currently executive director of Saskatoon’s Downtown Business Improvement District (BID), won the nomination over fellow candidates Marv Friesen and Roxanne Kaminski.
The riding was left vacant in November after the sudden death of Sask. Party MLA Roger Parent.
Last week, the New Democrats announced Ryan Meili as their candidate. The Liberal’s are running party leader Darrin Lamoureux, while the Green Party has yet to name its candidate.
No date has been set for the byelection.
