Hospitals of Regina Foundation launches spring home lottery

The Hospitals of Regina Foundation once again is giving people something to look forward to in the spring aside from just warmer temperatures.

The foundation launched its 2021 spring home lottery on Wednesday.

The grand prize is a $1.4-million showhome located at 4102 Fieldstone Way in The Creeks, along with $30,000 cash.

Proceeds from the lottery are to be invested in local children’s health services.

The 4,200-square-foot showhome features four bedrooms, 3 1/2 bathrooms, a custom wine room and bar, a walk-in pantry, a home gym and a home office with built-in desks.

The home will be presented fully furnished and professionally decorated and landscaped.

“I particularly like the wine cellar. I think that’s my favourite part of the house,” said Dino Sophocleous, the president and CEO of the foundation. “It’s an open concept, which I like.

“I think it feels luxurious, but at the same time it’s a home that a family can move into immediately and feel like they are right at home. I think the people will be very pleased with it.”

The final deadline to purchase tickets for the grand prize is May 7. The announcement of a winner could be May 20 or sooner, depending on when tickets sell out.

“The community is always very supportive,” Sophocleous said. “The lottery in the fall sold out in record time, so we’ve seen that the community chooses to support the foundation and the work of the hospitals.

“The community has rallied to our support.”

The early bird prize is a 2021 Mercedes-Benz AMG E53 coupe or $100,000 cash. The deadline to buy tickets for that prize is April 23, with a draw date of May 5.

There’s also a $10,000 VIP prize; its entry deadline is Feb. 26, with a draw date of March 10.

The deadline for the bonus prize — a BMW or $60,000 cash — is March 26, with the draw date set for April 8.

The lottery also features a 50/50 add-on (the total in the previous add-on was more than $1 million), the 100 Days of Winning Cash Calendar add-on ($1,000 daily for 100 days) and many other prizes.

Tickets can be purchased individually (for $100), as three-packs ($250), as five-packs ($375), as super packs ($500) or as max packs ($850).
