The Saskatchewan Roughriders are on the defensive, denying the report from Justin Dunk that the team worked out former NFL bad boy Johnny Manziel.
The workout would be in direct violation of the CFL’s negotiation list rules because Manziel is on the Tiger-Cats negotiation list and did not give the Riders permission for this alleged workout.
But the debate raged on regarding the credibility of Dunk versus Chris Jones and, sorry to say, the fans texting the Green Zone were more so inclined to doubt Chris Jones flat out denial.
And he has himself to blame. He was not up front about playing fast and loose with the rules early last season, leading to fines and all out embarrassment for the franchise.
The Riders reputation has all of a sudden turned toward the New England Patriots, where there will always be the question of what rules are they breaking now.
