Jesse Shynkaruk was the hero as the injury-plagued Saskatoon Blades pulled off a 3-2 overtime win over the Brandon Wheat Kings.
The Blades’ overage forward scored the opener (25) and potted the winner (26) with just 17 seconds left in overtime.
Josh Paterson (13) added the Blades other goal, sandwiched between two Brandon goals which at the time tied the game.
Logan Flodell made 21 saves in the victory.
With the victory, the Blades have strung together three straight wins to move five points clear of Calgary for the final playoff spot in the east.
