The Regina Catholic School Division will be introducing a new director of education at the end of the school year.
Current director Domenic Scuglia will be retiring at the end of June. He will be replaced by Sean Chase, who plans to step into the role for next year.
“The Board of Trustees is grateful to Dom Scuglia for his years with Regina Catholic Schools (RCSD),” board chair Vicky Bonnell said in a media release. “From budget cuts all the way through to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have relied on Dom for his calm leadership.
“We will miss him. At the same time, we celebrate the return of Sean Chase, a former teacher, Principal and Superintendent of the RCSD.”
Chase spent the past three years as director of education for the Holy Trinity School Division based in Moose Jaw. Prior to that, he had a role with Regina Catholic Schools as a superintendent.
“Sean is a friend and colleague who demonstrates servant leadership clearly,” Scuglia said in a release. “Sean will not just continue the job I have been doing; he will lead in his own way, bringing new ideas to the division while creating a path paved by experience, both here and in the Holy Trinity School Division.
“I move into retirement with five years of happy memories of Regina Catholic Schools.”
