Woman found dead in Swift Current apartment building

The RCMP is investigating the suspicious death of a woman in Swift Current.

In a media release Friday, the Mounties said officers from the Swift Current Municipal detachment got a call Thursday at about 11:30 p.m., about an injured woman asking for help at an apartment building on Seventh Avenue Northwest.

Before being taken to hospital with serious injuries, the woman said a second woman also had been hurt. That woman was found dead inside an apartment building on Chaplin Street.

Just after 1 a.m. Friday, police arrested a third woman at a house on Colonel Otter Drive. There haven’t been any charges laid as yet.

The three women know each other and the Mounties said they’re not looking for any other suspects. However, there will be an increased police presence at all three locations Friday.
