On the same day Winston Knoll Collegiate moved to online learning, Regina Public Schools reported a positive COVID-19 case at the high school in the city’s northwest.
Shortly after all public high schools shifted to remote instruction Wednesday, the school division said it had been informed by the Saskatchewan Health Authority of the positive case.
The division also said single cases had been reported at Ecole Wascana Plains School and Seven Stones Community School. Those two schools were open Wednesday.
All public elementary schools are to shift to remote learning Monday. The exception is Marion McVeety School, which already made the move; that facility closed Tuesday due to a number of COVID cases in recent days.
Meanwhile, the Regina Catholic School Division reported two positive cases at Michael A. Riffel Catholic High School and one at Archbishop M.C. O’Neill Catholic High School.
Close contacts were given details about self-isolation and remote learning. Other students were to attend those schools on the hybrid schedule on Wednesday.
All of the Catholic division’s elementary and high schools are to move to online instruction Monday. Those facilities — like the public schools — are expected to resume in-person classes on April 12.
There have been 37 cases reported at 27 Regina schools since Sunday morning.
