8:30 – Today marks the three-year anniversary of the Humboldt Broncos’ bus crash that killed 16, injured 13 others and devastated the province. At the time of the tragedy, Becky Zimmer was working as an editor and reporter for the Humboldt Journal. She joins Gormley to discuss what it was like covering the tragedy and living it alongside the rest of the community.

9:00 – The Hour of the Big Stories… Open Session
10:00 – The city of Humboldt and the Humboldt Broncos Memorials Committee announced Monday plans for a Humboldt Broncos Tribute Centre and roadside memorial. It would have a rink and possibly fitness facilities, but also a gallery to tell the stories of those who died and were hurt in the crash. The committee estimates it would need around $25-million for the project. Rob Muench is the deputy mayor for Humboldt and Chairman for the Humboldt Broncos Memorials Committee and he joins Gormley to discuss their memorial plans.

12:00 – VIDO is in the midst of a fundraising campaign to position itself as Canada’s pandemic research centre. The organization is seeking $45M in support from the federal government, and already has support from the Province and City of Saskatoon. But to clear the last hurdle and secure the federal funding, VIDO needs to raise $5M from the Saskatchewan community. CEO Volker Gerdts and Board Chair Ryan Thompson join Gormley to tell us more.
