Three more AstraZeneca vaccination clinics for people aged 55 and over are to open Wednesday in Saskatchewan.
According to the Saskatchewan Health Authority, a walk-in clinic is to open on Moose Jaw’s exhibition grounds (250 Thatcher Ave.) at 8:30 a.m., and close at 7:30 p.m.
In Weyburn, a drive-through clinic is to be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at 1560 New City Garden Rd. (formerly Ebel’s Contracting and Supply).
A walk-in clinic also is to begin operating in Kindersley at Elks Hall (904 Ninth Ave. W). The clinic is to open at 9 a.m., and close at 3 p.m.
All of the AstraZeneca walk-in and drive-through clinics across the province are first come, first served. Clients have to be 55 or over.
The SHA also said the eligibility for booking vaccination appointments is to remain the same Wednesday.
Individuals who are 58 and over can book an appointment online 24/7 using their health card here or by calling 1-833-SASKVAX (1-833-727-5829) between the hours of 8 a.m. and 11 p.m.
People between the ages of 50 and 57 living in the Northern Saskatchewan Administration District can book appointments by phone, but not online. Anyone 58 and over living in that district can use the online system.
Phase 1 health-care workers also can make bookings by phone.
People who are considered clinically extremely vulnerable have already been identified by their health-care team and will receive a letter of eligibility in the mail. The letter is required to make an appointment.
People in that category can’t book online unless they’re 58 or over and have not yet made an appointment.
The SHA also is communicating with group homes for persons with intellectual disabilities, shelters, and other congregate living facilities to discuss immunization.
