A young man is facing a charge of impaired driving after a home on Truesdale Drive in east Regina was hit by a vehicle early Saturday morning.
Police were called at about 2:30 a.m. about the house in the 1800 block of that street being struck. When officers arrived, they learned a man had run away from the vehicle towards University Park Drive.
Officers spotted him westbound on Arcola Avenue. Members of the canine unit were able to track him to the backyard of a home on Kliman Crescent, where he was arrested.
He refused to provide a suitable breath sample and was also charged with refusal to comply with a demand.
No one was hurt, but the homeowners are looking at between $20,000 and $30,000 in repairs. The 21-year-old is to make his first court appearance on April 27.
