11:00 – The City of Saskatoon is considering lowering the posted speed limits in residential neighbourhoods and is asking the public for their input through an online survey. Residents can tell the city what they think of the possibility of reducing the speed limit in residential areas from 50 km/hr to either 40 or 30 km/hr. Changing the speed limit in school zones, playground zones and areas with a high number of seniors is also being considered. The online survey is open until the end of April and council is expected to make a decision in the fall. Jay Magus is the city’s Director of Transportation and he joins Gormley to discuss why they are undertaking this speed limit review, how the response has been so far, and what residents’ input will be used for.
