The 34th annual Z99 Radiothon raised $416,938 for the Hospitals of Regina Foundation. The money will go to the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) at the Regina General Hospital.
This was the last year the fundraiser would be hosted by the station’s CC and Lorie, who announced their retirement earlier this month.
“Year after year, the Radiothon is a remarkable success because of the unwavering commitment from the community of southern Saskatchewan and our on-air team of CC and Lorie,” says Tom Newton, vice-president and general manager, Rawlco Radio.
“We are so grateful to the community for answering our call once again and helping us make a profound impact on the babies and families who need Regina’s NICU. While the Z99 Radiothon may sound different next year, Rawlco Radio remains committed to helping save babies lives.”
Over the last 34 years, the Radiothon has raised more than $10.4 million for the NICU, providing the unit with live-saving technology used to care for newborns.
“The generosity of this community never ceases to amaze us and we see it, not only during and leading up to Radiothon, but throughout the year,” says Dino Sophocleous, president and CEO, Hospitals of Regina Foundation.
“Because of this amazing community, and our dedicated partners CC, Lorie and the Z99 team at Rawlco Radio, we are able to invest in the best paediatric care available, right here at home.”
