12:00 – The PAWsitive support program at the University of Saskatchewan has been working to find innovative ways to continue research and programming, despite the COVID-19 pandemic. Their research shows that service dogs make a huge difference for veterans who are diagnosed with PTSD or in recovery from substance abuse, as disconnection can often be a symptom of those disorders that’s worsened by COVID-19. This week marks one year since the program went online, and John is joined by Master Corporal Michael Richards to tell us about how working with his service dog Felix has helped change and improve his life following his retirement from the armed forces and PTSD diagnosis.
