Four protesters who participated in a large rally against the province’s public health orders Saturday will have to pay a $2,800 fine.
In a news release Sunday, Regina police reported that officers handed out the tickets following the rally held in Victoria Park Saturday.
In a video posted online, Chris Saccoccia — who identifies himself as ‘Chris Sky’ — made a speech by the war memorial in front of a significant crowd.
The appearance was part of what he calls a ‘Freedom Convoy,’ making its way across Canada to gather in large numbers and deliver anti-mask speeches. It also made a stop in Maple Creek Saturday.
Police revealed that around 150 to 160 people were in attendance in or near Victoria Park during the rally, well over the 10 person limit for outdoor gatherings.
