8:30 – Recent data from the US shows weekly cases continue to decline for the fifth week in a row, the weekly death total is its lowest since March 2020, more younger people are affected/infected and those with vaccine hesitancy use the reasons of blood clots (despite its rarity), infertility concerns, birth defects and getting cancer (i.e. altering DNA) from the vaccine. Microbiologist Dr. Joseph Blondeau joins Gormley to discuss this and to offer some advice to parents who are hesitant about getting their pre/young teens vaccinated for COVID-19.

And starting sometime in early June, the SHA will be setting up Pfizer vaccine clinics in every school in the province. Derek Miller, the head of the Saskatchewan Health Authority’s Emergency Operations Centre joins Gormley to discuss the plan for second doses and the vaccine rollout strategy in schools.
