Saskatoon police’s tactical unit got a workout Wednesday, assisting the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit search for drugs and conduct two arrests.
Police say the unit helped arrest a 26-year-old man in a parking lot on Laurier Drive for possession and trafficking of methamphetamine.
They seized one ounce of the drug, as well as 90 millilitres of GHB and a knife from the man.
After the arrest, officers were able to conduct search warrants at homes on Boychuk Drive and Kloppenburg Street.
Between the two locations officers found 967.9 grams of meth, 90 millilitres of GHB, 22.5 OxyContin pills and $1,550 in cash.
The man faces charges of possessing and trafficking meth, GHB and OxyContin, along with possessing a dangerous weapon and property obtained by crime under $5,000.
