REAL CEO Tim Reid said as of Monday morning, tickets were selling at a very fast pace and the association hopes to be operating at full attendance.
“We want to recognize that there is a chance there may be restrictions so only 5,000 tickets went out today,” Reid said. “That being said, if everything goes as planned, there should be no restrictions on attendance.”
Reid said he thinks this year’s exhibition is shaping up to be a memorable one.
“The fair is going to be longer than it’s been since 1984,” Reid said. “And to support some Canadian talent and to put the artists that we have on stage, I think it’s going to make for a fantastic grandstand event.
“I think the community is excited. I think we as an organization are excited and I think August is going to be a lot of fun.”
Health measures will be in place on the REAL campus and guidelines are expected to be closely monitored as the province continues to reopen.
“NAME has been working hard with local health authorities and the fair managers across North America to ensure that we not only meet but exceed safety protocols,” said Greg Korek, president of North American Midway Entertainment (NAME).
“This includes, but is not limited to, reducing our rides’ presentation, increasing cleaning and sanitation efforts and ensuring that all staff wear masks while on duty.”
