Kevin Glenn, Darian Durant, Mike Reilly and Bo Levi Mitchell are scheduled to be in Saskatchewan in a few days as part of the upcoming CFL Week.
Fans are looking forward to visiting with those quarterbacks and numerous other CFL stars, plus the coaches and general managers. But the most interesting stop during CFL Week might be at the Command Centre simulator. Glen Johnson, the CFL’s senior vice-president of football, is going to show fans how officials review video challenges and — hopefully — make the right call.
Judging by texters into the Green Zone, refining video review is the biggest challenge facing the CFL. Johnson admitted as much during an interview with Jamie Nye and said reducing the time dedicated to in-game challenges remains a top priority during next week’s rules committee meetings.
From the growing group of sports fans who believe all video challenges should be removed from all sports, anything that reduces a reliance on video is a very good idea.
