RCMP believe they have caught the man behind an armed robbery in Humboldt.
RCMP confirm officers responded to the robbery around 1:50 a.m. Thursday. It happened at a convenience store on Main Street in Humboldt.
RCMP said the suspect entered the store with a bandana and a knife and demanded money. An employee was allegedly taken to the washroom and was told to remain there. The suspect then allegedly left the store with an undisclosed amount of money along with other store items.
Witnesses said they saw the suspect leaving the store in a tan-coloured GMC Terrain SUV.
Minutes later, RCMP located and pulled over a vehicle matching the description. The driver was arrested for impaired driving.
Police said further investigation connected the man to the robbery.
Derek Murray, 26, of Humboldt, is facing a bunch of charges including impaired operation of a motor vehicle, drive while disqualified, theft while armed with a weapon and uttering threats.
Murray made a court appearance in Saskatoon Friday morning.
