8:30 – Saskatchewan’s state of emergency will end July 11 as we lift the remaining COVID-19 restrictions. Premier Scott Moe made the announcement yesterday, saying he expects 60% of the population to be fully vaccinated before that date. Moe also announced that vaccine passports for big events in Saskatchewan are off the table, and the premier joins Gormley to share the latest on Saskatchewan’s fight against COVID-19 along with his message for the province as we head into the Canada Day holiday.

10:45 – Dr. Jeff Keshen was named the new president of the University of Regina back in March, and tomorrow marks the start of his term in the university’s highest position. Keshen formerly served as a vice-president of Memorial University’s Grenfell Campus in Newfoundland, and dean of the Faculty of Arts at Mount Royal University in Alberta. Keshen says he wants to improve student retention and advance the university’s research capacity, and he joins Gormley to tell us more about his goals for Regina’s university.

12:00 – Softball is returning to the Olympics this year, for the first time since 2008, and a Saskatoon-born athlete will be taking the field for Team Canada. Jennifer Gilbert is one of 15 athletes selected for the team by Softball Canada’s coaching staff, and the 29-year-old who was an two-time All-American left fielder, joins Gormley to tell us about heading to Japan for the games, which will begin July 23.
