The mystery of Tom Brady’s missing Super Bowl jersey has apparently been solved.
The New England Patriots quarterback was dismayed to find his game jersey missing from his locker shortly after Super Bowl LI, in which he led his team to an improbable 25-point comeback win against the Atlanta Falcons.
Video of the moment Brady realized the jersey was missing was widely circulated following the Super Bowl.
On Monday, the NFL released a statement saying that the jersey had been found following joint efforts by the FBI, the Patriots’ security team and other law enforcement agencies.
The jersey, believed to be worth as much as $500,000, was allegedly stolen by a credentialed member of the international media. The NFL statement claimed the jersey was recovered alongside another jersey that Brady wore in the Patriots’ Super Bowl XLIX win over the Seattle Seahawks.
