The $1.33M rent reduction comes from what the club owed during seasons impacted by the pandemic.
Despite high winds and snow in the forecast, people are enjoying the official start to spring in Saskatchewan.
Tyson Kurtenbach was walking in downtown Saskatoon Monday and said the wind wouldn’t stop him from soaking in the sun.
“It’s great to be outside,” he said. “Hopefully we’re seeing the end of winter.”
Wind gusts Monday afternoon were recorded at 52 kilometres per hour in Saskatoon, but that didn’t bother some.
“I don’t mind,” said Rose, a long-time resident. “It’ll make me nice and brown.”
While people are enjoying the spring air, Environment Canada said the province shouldn’t shelve their shovels and snowblowers just yet.
“Expect different places in the province to be hit by snowfall over the next couple weeks,” said meteorologist John Paul-Cragg.
With the temperature expected to hover close to the freezing mark for at least the next week, Paul-Cragg said it’s difficult to predict where snow will turn into rain and vice-versa.
He added, however, Saskatchewan shouldn’t have to worry about another deep freeze.
“There’s no real indication we’ll get a cold blast of air,” he said.
Above-average temperatures are forecasted for the rest of March and into the early weeks of April.
