Jamal Murrell had a terrifying few moments Saturday when the car he was working on fell on top of him.
“It was very scary. It only lasted about a minute, but it felt like an hour,” he said.
Murrell and his fiancee were driving along Pinehouse Drive in Saskatoon when the alternator light in their car came on. They pulled over so he could find the problem.
After Murrell jacked up the car to fix it and slid underneath it, the jack slipped, dropping the vehicle on his right leg and pinning him to the ground.
Three bystanders walking by were able to come to Murrell’s rescue and lift the car off of the man.
Murrell said he never got the names of the two women and the man who came to his rescue.
“Thank you so much for just being there are the right place at the right time,” he said in a message to the strangers. “Whoever you are, you guys are angels and thank you for looking out for me that day.”
Murrell said he wasn’t hurt too badly, other than some bruising on his legs. He believes it could have been a lot worse if the three strangers hadn’t helped.
