The investigation into a vehicle that was rented in 2019 but never returned has resulted in charges against a 38-year-old Regina woman.
The Regina Police Service said its Stolen Auto Unit started investigating in March of 2019 after a vehicle was rented and not returned.
This past May, officers found out the vehicle had been sold and re-registered in Alberta. They worked with members of the Edmonton Police Service to find the vehicle and tracked sales records back to the woman who originally rented it in Regina.
The woman was arrested Tuesday and charged with theft over $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000. She made her first court appearance on Wednesday.
Anyone from Regina or Alberta who has information on the case is asked to call their local law enforcement agency or the Regina Police Service at 306-777-6500.
