One person was taken into custody after police had to force a car off the road east of Regina.
Around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Fillmore RCMP members, who were responding to a threat complaint, attempted to approach a stopped vehicle west of Vibank, Sask. located 52 kilometres east of Regina.
The driver, who was the lone occupant of the vehicle, fled police and travelled west on Highway 48.
The suspect vehicle was driving erratically and swerving into oncoming traffic, which led to a police pursuit being authorized.
Spike belts were used but despite damaging the vehicle, it did not stop.
The pursuit ended when a police vehicle forced the suspect vehicle off a gravel road in order to protect public safety.
No one was injured during the incident and the suspect was taken into custody.
However, one police vehicle sustained damage.
Indian Head and Weyburn RCMP detachments assisted during the incident and the investigation is ongoing.
