Team president Mark Shapiro and GM Ross Atkins both deserve credit.
The pair took over control of the Jays after Alex Anthopoulos left at the end of the 2015 season.
Since Shapiro and Atkins have joined the Blue Jays, they haven’t made decisions to put their stamp on the Jays. They have made decisions to enhance what they’ve inherited, which is a good ball team.
Prior to the 2016 season, I was fearful a change at the top would equal a change on the field for Toronto.
A John Gibbons extension shows consistency in the dug out, which gives this team a chance to turn in a performance consistent with what we’ve seen in the last two seasons.
