Saskatchewan RCMP are trying to locate a man suspected of attempted sexual assault
The attempted assault occurred near Meadow Lake Provincial Park, at Highway 224 and Highway 950 in northwest Saskatchewan.
Pierceland RCMP responded to the site, described as rural and wooded, around 7:20 p.m. on Aug. 3, 2021.
RCMP said a man with a knife approached a woman who was working in the area and attempted to sexually assault her. The woman was able to fight the man off and escape with minor injuries.
The suspect is described as male and under the age of 30. He is tall and thin with tan skin and was wearing dark clothing, sunglasses and a bandanna over his face.
The incident is being actively investigated, according to Pierceland RCMP. Saskatchewan Ministry of Environment conservation officers and Saskatchewan RCMP — including Police Dog Services, Forensic Identification Section and North Battleford General Investigation Section — are also investigating the incident.
Anyone who saw a parked vehicle or any pedestrians in the area of the attack on the evening of Tuesday, Aug. 3 is asked to call Pierceland RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
