A 27-year-old man from Fort-Qu’Appelle has been charged with Regina’s latest homicide.
Jason Bird, 33, was found injured just after 5 a.m. on July 15, 2021, in the 800 block of Princess Street. Patrol officers provided first aid to Bird until EMS arrived.
Bird was taken to hospital and later died from his injuries.
The Regina Police Service took lead on the case on July 16 and a suspect was identified in the investigation.
The man has been arrested and is facing four charges for first-degree murder, possession of stolen property, breach of a release order and possession of a weapon for a purpose dangerous to public peace.
The suspect was scheduled to make his first appearance in court at 9:30 a.m. on Aug. 6.
