Saskatchewan has now surpassed 50,000 recoveries and has gone a week without a single death due to COVID-19.
New cases in the province numbered 190 Thursday, the highest since May 15, when 199 cases were reported, according to the provincial COVID-19 dashboard.
A reported 91 per cent of new cases reported were not fully vaccinated. Nine per cent were fully vaccinated.
Saskatoon is still in the lead with 269 of the province’s 1,203 active cases.
A total of 2,841 new vaccinations were given as of early afternoon Thursday.
A look at the numbers
Saskatchewan has now recorded 51,821 cases and 50,032 recoveries.
New cases in the province were reported in Saskatoon (40), northeast (34), far northwest (26), central east (20), north central (14), Regina (14), northwest (10), southeast (eight), far northeast (six), southwest (six), central west (four) and south central (one).
The residence is listed as pending for seven new cases.
There are 86 patients in hospitals, with 70 inpatients: Saskatoon (27), north central (22), Regina (12), northwest (four), south central (four) and southwest (one). Intensive care units have 16 patients: Saskatoon (nine), Regina (four), north central (two) and northwest (one).
Of the 86 patients, 65 (or 76 per cent) are not fully vaccinated.
There have been 586 deaths in Saskatchewan due to COVID-19.
The seven-day average of new daily COVID-19 cases in the province is 129, up seven from Wednesday.
Tests performed in the province total 993,042, with 2,088 new tests reported Thursday.
Vaccination update
Total doses of the vaccine given in the province number 1,453,199 and 680,397 residents are fully vaccinated.
Of Saskatchewan residents at or over the age of 12, 74.8 per cent have received their first vaccine dose and 65.86 per cent have received both doses.
