After a two-week string of robberies and break-and-enters in Regina, charges have been laid against one man.
A 23-year-old from Regina is currently facing 39 charges in connection with seven business robberies between Aug. 6 and 19, 2021, an auto theft and three break-and-enters.
The man allegedly robbed businesses on Albert Street North near Ring Road, Broad Street near 11th Avenue and 1 Ave North, McIntyre St near 1 Ave North, Dewdney Avenue near Smith St and Pasqua St near 13th Ave.
Similarities in these cases led police to suspect the crimes might be related, but the suspect was not identified until later in the investigations.
The man was arrested Aug. 20 by the Regina Police Robbery Unit, Patrol and Crime Reduction teams.
He is charged with nine counts of robbery, assault with a weapon, nine counts of disguise with intent, three counts of use of an imitation firearm in the commission of an indictable offence and theft under $5,000, among others.
The man’s first appearance in court was at 9:30 a.m. Monday.
