The Queen City Ex is the place to be for those looking to indulge in deep-fried burgers, carnival games, and rides that spin until your stomach is in your throat.
Although that particular order of doing things might not be the wisest.
980 CJME was invited on a media tour of the fair on Wednesday.
The group was able to sample food, rides, games and more.
First off was a corn-dog eating contest. There were representatives from Regina’s police and fire departments, the Regina Food Bank, and more.

Afterwards, there was a donation to the food bank.
From there, it was time to try out some rides.
It started out simple with a relaxing ride up the ferris wheel. It brought a nice view of the fair and much of the city.

While the wheel did move a bit faster than expected, it was a relatively gentle start to things.
It ramped up quickly afterwards.

Some walked out of the gate feeling a bit shaky.
There was one more ride afterwards. Then, the group took in an interesting show. Kids laughed and clapped as Twiggy the Water-Skiing Squirrel performed.

Who would have thought there were life jackets sized correctly for squirrels?
The busy day so far left many of the group feeling a bit hungry. There were plenty of options, but the booth selling deep-fried burgers ended up making seven of them for the tour.
