While doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been widely available to everyone in Saskatchewan for months, some people haven’t yet got around to getting their shot.
There were 2,933 doses given out in the latest reporting period, announced on Thursday. Of those, 1,185 were first shots.
However, massive drive-thru clinics and booking through the province are now unavailable. If you live in the Queen City, just where should you go to get your shot?
Laveena Tratch, the Saskatchewan Health Authority’s vaccine section chief for Regina, broke down the strategy on making vaccines available and accessible in the city.
“We’ve been offering lots of regularly scheduled clinics, like in our malls, where we’re there consistently every week. So … there’s that consistent place where they can go,” she said.
Those consistent clinics range from nearly every mall in the city to the Farmer’s Market and even to the airport. Both Pfizer and Moderna vaccines are available at all of them:
- 5201 Regina Ave. (Regina Airport — international arrivals area) — Walk-in site until Sunday, 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
- 1601 Dewdney Ave. East (Glen Elm Library) — Walk-in site every Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- 160 Broad St. (Northeast Community Centre) — Walk-in site every Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

- 2965 Gordon Rd. (Southland Mall) — Walk-in site every Friday from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
- 615 Sixth Ave. (Eastview Community Centre) — Walk-in site every Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
However, it’s not just the clinics you can expect to see every week.
“We’re also working a lot with our community partners …,” Tratch explained. “We’re continuing to work with our sports teams, we’re continuing to work with our school institutions … to really help provide vaccine opportunities and really continuing to look at places where people are gathering so that we can make it more convenient and easy for people to get it.”
You can see a list of the pop-up clinics as they become available here.
There will also be shots available at Sunday’s Labour Day Classic at Mosaic Stadium between the Saskatchewan Roughriders and Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
While the Roughriders will require vaccines to attend every game after that one, they thought it would be a good idea to give fans an easy opportunity to roll up their sleeve before the rule kicks in.
“We will be there inside the stadium at Gate 1 and Gate 4 to be able to provide vaccines to any of those that are looking forward, so they can continue to enjoy those great Rider games,” Tratch said.
Overall, she’s feeling quite positive about the number of spots to get your shot in the Queen City.
“We know that more mandates are coming in, more requirements for vaccines are coming, so we really are keeping our website up to date,” she said. “There’s lots of opportunities every single day for you to become vaccinated.”
