A 20-year-old Regina man is facing three charges of attempted murder in the wake of a crash Wednesday at one of Regina’s busiest intersections.
Larz Anthony Okeeweehow also was charged with dangerous driving, theft of a motor vehicle, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, failing to comply with a release order and failing to comply with a probation order in connection with the incident.
On Wednesday at about 11:45 a.m., police were called to the intersection of Victoria Avenue and Arcola Avenue for a report of an injured man who had been hit by a vehicle.
Police were told the man was driving a vehicle and was stopped at the intersection when another vehicle struck his from behind. When the man got out and went to the back of his vehicle, the suspect vehicle drove into him.
Two people who saw the incident got out of their vehicles to help the injured man, and all three were hit by the suspect vehicle as it sped away.
Police say the first man is in critical condition. The other two victims suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
Okeeweehow was arrested a short time later. He made his first court appearance Thursday.
