A semi driver has been accused of drunk driving, causing an accident near Moose Jaw Saturday night.
In a news release, police said the driver was on the Highway 1 overpass east of the city when he crashed into a guard rail. The impact rolled the semi over.
Emergency workers managed to get him out of the semi, treating him for minor injuries.
The suspect — a 25-year-old from Ontario — allegedly refused to take a breathalyzer test. Police determined alcohol to be a factor in the collision.
The eastbound lanes of Highway 1 on the eastern edge of the city were re-routed.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash. Police estimate the total damage at about $400,000.
The suspect was charged with Impaired Driving and Failing to Comply with a Breath Demand.
