8:30 – Commissioner Steve Allan has released his final report on the Alberta Public Inquiry into Anti-Alberta Energy Campaigns, finding foreign donors provided nearly $1.3 billion in funds for Canadian environmental campaigns between 2003 and 2019. Allan, who’s been serving as commissioner since June of 2019, was clear that he did not find wrongdoing or illegal activity among the foreign donors, but he did identify 21 groups that have been engaged in anti-Alberta energy activities including the David Suzuki Foundation, Greenpeace Canada, and the Sierra Club Canada Foundation. The inquiry builds on the work of independent journalist Vivian Krause, who first called attention to foreign funding of anti-oil activism in Canada, and Krause joins Gormley to share her thoughts on Allan’s report.
