The Saskatoon Blades worked overtime Tuesday to snap a two-game losing streak.
Tristen Robins’ goal 50 seconds into the five-minute overtime period gave the host Blades a 4-3 WHL victory over the Edmonton Oil Kings at SaskTel Centre.
Edmonton led 3-1 in the third period before Brandon Lisowsky scored two goals 52 seconds apart — at 14:48 and 15:40 — to pull the Blades even and set the stage for Robins’ heroics.
Jayden Wiens also scored for Saskatoon (10-4-1-0). Josh Williams, Dylan Guenther and Jakub Demek had goals for the Oil Kings (9-3-2-1).
In Moose Jaw, Ben King had two goals as the Red Deer Rebels downed the Warriors 5-2, ending Moose Jaw’s winning streak at two games.
Carter Anderson, Jhett Larson and Liam Keeler also scored for the Rebels (10-6-1-0). Brayden Yager and Denton Mateychuk replied for Moose Jaw (6-8-0-0).
