Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement that covers all of southern and central Saskatchewan.
It says a strong storm system will move in on Tuesday bringing a mix of wintery weather.
The Yellowhead Highway appears to be a dividing line. Areas to the north are expected to see anywhere between 10 and 30 centimetres of snow. That will mostly be in a line from Lloydminster and Meadow Lake to The Pas, Man.
A band of freezing rain is expected to affect the Yellowhead itself, creating some slippery driving conditions. Areas to the southwest will see strong winds, with gusts topping 90 km/h.
Environment Canada also issued a winter storm watch for parts of northern Saskatchewan including Buffalo Narrows, La Ronge, Prince Albert National Park, Pelican Narrows and Cumberland House. Those areas are expecting 25 to 35 centimetres of snow from Monday night until Wednesday morning.
