Warnings and advisories were lifted Wednesday afternoon as a major winter storm made its way out of Saskatchewan.
Areas around Regina, Moose Jaw, Pense, Lumsden, Fort Qu’Appelle, Outlook and Watrous were covered by blizzard warnings until they were lifted around 10:30 a.m.
The blizzard warnings were replaced by blowing snow advisories, but those — as well as winter storm and wind warnings around the province — were lifted Wednesday afternoon.
Environment Canada meteorologist Robyn Dyck said the Queen City area got the brunt of the storm Tuesday.
“I would say impact-wise Regina seems to be hit the hardest,” Dyck said.
Roughly 25 centimetres of snow came down in communities in the southeast region of the province, and wind gusts reached more than 100 km/h, according to Dyck.
