An attempt to create social media content has led to a mischief charge against a Regina man.
On Thursday at about 2:30 p.m., police and fire crews were called to a building on the 1800 block of Scarth Street to help a person who was sitting on the pedway with his legs over the edge.
Rescuers determined the man couldn’t get down safely, so 11th Avenue was shut down between Hamilton and Cornwall streets while Regina Fire and Protective Services brought in a ladder truck.
The man was secured to a basket and lowered to the ground at about 3:45 p.m. Police subsequently learned he had climbed onto the pedway to create social media content, and he was charged with one count of mischief over $5,000.
He was released and is to make his first court appearance Jan. 6.
