Regina police officers interrupted an attempted car theft early Friday.
In a media release, police said they got a call just after midnight about a break-in at a car dealership in the 600 block of Albert Street. A man was seen trying keys on various vehicles in the parking lot.
Police also were told by a security firm employed by the dealership that a man had broken into the showroom and took several key fobs with him.
Officers arrested a 40-year-old man just as he was getting into one of the vehicles. A search found in his possession several key fobs from the dealership.
After more investigation, police charged the man in connection with a similar break-and-enter in which a vehicle was stolen, followed by a theft of gas in a gas-and-go incident, on Wednesday. He also was charged with a shoplifting incident from a business on Tuesday.
He made his first court appearance Friday.
