8:30 – Saskatchewan set a housing sales record in 2021, passing the previous record set in 2007 by 17% with 17,387 sales. But while Saskatchewan’s market is still affordable, that’s not the story in the rest of Canada, and the Saskatchewan Realtors Association expressed concerns that the federal government may try to legislate its way to a cooler market, which could have a negative effect on Saskatchewan. Chris Guérette, CEO of the Saskatchewan Realtors Association, joins John to discuss the housing market and why government action could end up making the situation worse.

12:00 – The $10B James Webb Space Telescope, the successor to the Hubble, is currently in orbit after launching Christmas morning, and NASA scientists are working to get the satellite up and running. This week the telescope unfolded its massive sun shield, and this weekend the imaging mirrors will be deployed. Dr. Samantha Lawler is a professor of astronomy, and she joins Gormley to tell us about the Webb Telescope and why it’s got astronomers like her very excited.
