The Regina Catholic School Division has sent letters to some families of students at Michael A. Riffel Catholic High School informing them seven more cases of COVID-19 have been detected at the northwest Regina school.
There have been 22 cases reported at Riffel since Monday and 38 at the school this month.
The division also informed parents of three more cases at each of St. Angela Merici and St. Catherine, two at each of St. Dominic, St. Josaphat, St. Theresa, St. Timothy and LeBoldus, and one at each of St. Luke, O’Neill and Miller.
There have been 43 cases reported at Miller this month and 38 at O’Neill.
So far in January, the Catholic division has reported 323 cases at 29 of its facilities.
Later Thursday, Regina Public Schools reported cases had been detected at 38 of its schools.
Those schools were Albert, Henry Braun, Judge Bryant, Ruth M. Buck, Centennial, Connaught, Coronation Park, The Crescents, Dr. George Ferguson, Glen Elm, Grant Road, Dr. L.M. Hanna, Harbour Landing, W.S. Hawrylak, Wilfred Hunt, Imperial, Henry Janzen, Lakeview, George Lee, Gladys McDonald, MacNeill, Marion McVeety, Ethel Milliken, Ruth Pawson, Plainsview, W.F. Ready, Rosemont, Seven Stones, Thomson, Wilfrid Walker and Wascana Plains elementary schools, Balfour, Campbell, Johnson, Winston Knoll, Martin, Sheldon-Williams and Thom high schools, and Campus Regina Public.
The division also said that due to multiple cases, the Grade 7-8 B classroom at Ecole W.S. Hawrylak School is moving to remote learning starting Friday. Students are slated to return to school on Jan. 24 if they aren’t experiencing any symptoms.
