Two people have been charged in connection with Regina’s 15th murder of 2021.
The body of 22-year-old Harvey Beatty was found in Greenberg Park on Broder Street on Dec. 16. On Monday, the Regina Police Service revealed that Beatty had been murdered and that two people had been charged.
Aaron Craig Alexson, 41, and 30-year-old Toni Marie Manitopyes, both of Regina, each are facing one count of second-degree murder. They were to appear in Regina Provincial Court on Monday morning.
On Dec. 16, police were called to Greenberg Park for a report that a body had been found. Paramedics had already confirmed the man was dead, leading to an investigation by police and the Saskatchewan Coroners Service.
EDITOR’S NOTE: The murder charge against Manitopyes was stayed in March of 2022 and replaced by a charge of being an accessory after the fact. That charge was stayed in October of 2022.
