The City of Regina is looking at a fourth off-leash park for people’s four-legged friends.
In a media release Wednesday, the city said it has selected A.E. Wilson Park as the next site for an off-leash dog park. The city noted the park in the northwest was chosen because of its size, ease of access, existing park amenities, proximity to the multi-use pathway system, and distance from homes and schools.
Last May, residents who live near the park were asked for their feedback into the idea. The city said that input “influenced the size and location of the park, accessibility, the location of the parking lot and overall aesthetics.”
Now, the City of Regina is asking for feedback about the proposed off-leash dog park from all city residents. A survey will be available here until Feb. 6.
The three year-round off-leash dog parks in the city currently are the Cathy Lauritsen Memorial Off-Leash Dog Park on Forget Street, the Ross Industrial Off-Leash Dog Park on Solomon Crescent, and the facility at the Mount Pleasant Sports Park.
