A 20-year-old woman is facing six charges in connection with the death of a teenager in August.
On Aug. 7 at around 11 p.m., RCMP officers got a call about an injured person in a vehicle at a business on the Cowessess First Nation. The teenaged boy, a resident of the Cowessess First Nation, was pronounced dead at the scene.
After more than six months of investigation, the Mounties charged a woman from the Cowessess First Nation with two counts each of dangerous driving causing bodily harm and criminal negligence causing bodily harm, and one count each of dangerous driving causing death and criminal negligence causing death.
The RCMP didn’t provide any other details about the nature of the incident or the cause of the boy’s death.
The woman is to appear in Broadview Provincial Court on April 6.
