Listener Darrel Hall said he drove by and saw it first-hand. Apparently, the road itself wasn’t affected by the derailment.
“I was able to get by OK. The closest car to the road was maybe 10 feet from the edge. It looked like possibly eight or so (cars) off the tracks, and some wheels strewn about,” he said.
In a media release, the Milestone RCMP said there weren’t any injuries.
Highway 39 was to be closed while the scene was cleared.
“Motorists can expect delays in this area and are asked to follow the direction of officers at the scene,” the Mounties said in a release.
