More than two years after Majok Majok was killed, a teenager has been sentenced for shooting the 23-year-old Regina man to death.
The teen, who was 17 at the time of Majok’s death on Jan. 24, 2020, pleaded guilty to a charge of second-degree murder in January and was sentenced on Friday. He was sentenced to 1,702 days in custody followed by 853 days of community supervision.
The teen can’t be named under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
In the early-morning hours of Jan. 24, 2020, police found Majok critically injured in a house in the 500 block of Wascana Street. He was pronounced dead a short time later.
Majok was Regina’s second murder victim of 2020.
After the accused made a court appearance in the weeks following the killing, Majok’s family spoke to reporters and said they were still trying to come to grips with his death.
