'Considering the circumstances ... this is best-case scenario,' Cole Cusitar said.
A pickup truck reported stolen from Leask on Sunday was involved in a fatal collision early Monday north of Prince Albert.
The RCMP says a 64-year-old man was killed when his car and the pickup collided at the intersection of Highway 263 and Okema Beach Road at about 6:30 a.m. He was the sole occupant of the car.
According to the Mounties, the occupant or occupants of the truck — a white 2001 GMC Sierra — took off on foot before police arrived.
The Prince Albert RCMP is investigating, along with a Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist and the Mounties’ canine unit.
Anyone with information about the crash or the pickup truck is asked to call the Prince Albert RCMP at 306-765-5500 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
