Roaring, orange flames and a thick cloud of black smoke aren’t usually things you’d ever want to see.
But it was a different story on the Hill Avenue grid road on the outskirts of Regina on Thursday.
At about 8:45 a.m., the airport’s firefighters ran training drills.
They had set a dummy airplane on fire to practise putting it out.
Before a crew member threw a flare in and ignited the gas within, it was a calm scene. You could hear the sound of the wind, frogs croaking, and not much else.
Then, it was go time.
The crews were extremely efficient in putting out the hungry, orange inferno.
It took them about one minute to completely snuff out the blaze.
